Registered Physiotherapist, Maria Williams, graduated in 1998 from Acadia University with her Bachelor of Science Honours (Biology), she completed her Master’s of Science (Physiology) at the University of Alberta in 2001 and her Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) in 2005 at Dalhousie University.
She worked as rural practice Physiotherapist in Burin Hospital for 3 years upon graduation and spent a year at St. Clare’s in Thoracic and General Surgery. Between 2008 and 2010 she began working in private practice and finally found her niche. Maria has a keen interest in the correction of faulty movement patterns through individualized exercise programs and manual therapy intervention. She believes thatpatient education is the key to pain reduction, smooth recovery and prevention of re-injury.
Post-graduate training includes The Mulligan Concept, Diagnosis of Movement Impairment Syndromes and Integrated Systems Model: The Thorax and Pelvis and is presently completing a Foot and Ankle course through the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute.
